OPENING EXHIBITION – THE FACT FINDER
The Fact Finder opens its first exhibition showcasing artists whose practices rely on fact-finding pursuits. In the context of massification of image use in the media, the Fact Finder artists detect or surpass the visual conventions by allowing the “peripheric”, the underrepresented, the easy-to-miss details to uncover their importance when investigating facts and telling stories.
Alex Bodea, Anne Metzen (Standard Euro), Matthias Beckmann, Karine Bonneval, Alina Andrei, Sibylle Hofter are going the full length on immersing into their field of the inquest, by relying on their first-hand experience in accessing and working with data, in some cases over the course of more than one decade. Their findings cast much more than one overly simplified light on a story.
